Watauga County Landfill

McGee Environmental designed and installed the active Landfill gas collection system at the Watauga County Landfill in the summer of 2005. Working with our engineering partner, Carlson Environmental Consultants, PC, we developed a design that incorporated the 22 existing passive solar vent wells into an active LFG collection system. Two of the passive solar flares have been converted to active duty in a temporary blower/flare system that is currently burning all of the Landfill’s gas. McGee Environmental, Inc. was selected by the Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc. to provide design, construction, operation, and maintenance services for the Landfill Gas-to-Energy project.
